Explore the Diva-worthy fun in NYC’s up-and-coming NoMad
We’re all familiar with the abbreviated names of our beloved Manhattan neighborhoods (Soho, Tribeca, Nolita) but what do you know about NoMad? It stands for “North of Madison Square” and it’s the area between Madison Square Park and Murray Hill. It’s the place to see and be seen, Diva, so check out our finds in this noteworthy part of town.
Chilling Out: Of course one of the best parts of living in NoMad is Madison Square Park. A stunning green oasis, this is a picnic-lover’s haven. Wine, cheese, a blanket and you are ready for some seriously Diva-worthy chill out time.
Diva-worthy Snack: Danny Meyer’s Shake Shack is a do-not-miss for a quick Chicago-style hot dog and amazing shakes. Grab a drink and/or your childhood snack favorite and give your gladiators a break from a nice stroll in the park.
Dining Out: Prepare to show your Divalicious self at The Breslin, the new restaurant behind the duo from The Spotted Pig, when it opens in The Ace Hotel. Vegetarian-savvy Divas will enjoy the amazing veg-friendly Korean food at HanGawi, while Divas who love amazing French cuisine can catch us cooling our stilettos at La Petite Auberge.
Sit and Sip: We will always be fans of the legendary Eleven Madison Park for a glamorous cocktail and dining experience, but if you want to give your credit line a break and still be right by the park, Tabla has a beautiful outdoor patio for more recessionista-friendly nights. Daytime? Chill out with a Tea at our favorite tea spot subtletea.
Get Glam: If you need some quick beauty maintenance while in NoMad, we recommend Hair Party 24 for a quick blowout or a mani-pedi. Always know where the glam squad spots are, Diva. You never know when you might need them.
Checking In: Although it’s not opening until Summer 2010, our Diva spies tell us the Gansevoort Park is rumored to be the most Divalicious of all the Gansevoort hotels. Giving you a chance to display your hotel bar savvy earlier is the new Ace Hotel, just opened.
